As part of AWE’s commitment to ongoing engagement with the Mid West community about our operations and forward plans for Stage 1A of the Waitsia Gas Project, we’re holding a Community Information Exchange Session next week. Details follow:

Where:  Ocean Room, Shire of Irwin Recreation Centre, Point Leander Drive, Port Denison
When:   2:30 – 6:30pm, Wednesday, 23 March 2016

The information exchange session is a chance for AWE to outline our plans, answer any questions you may have about the Waitsia Gas Project or other activities, and to give our team the opportunity to better understand your views and interests.

The session format uses a conversational approach rather than formal presentations.  This way people can join in when they’re free and chat with AWE staff about general activities or any topics of particular interest.

The information exchange will focus on the first stage of groundworks and operational activity for the Waitsia Gas Project, Stage 1A, located approximately 15km east of Dongara. It will also cover planned appraisal activities, which are part of the overall Waitsia Gas Project development as well as decommissioning projects in the area.

Stage 1A comprises the installation of new infrastructure and upgrades to existing assets that will connect the recently flow tested Waitsia-01 and Senecio-03 gas wells to the Xyris Production Facility (XPF) for an extended production test. Gas processed at XPF will be delivered via existing infrastructure to the Parmelia Gas Pipeline for domestic consumption in Western Australia.

The initial capacity of XPF will be approximately 10 TJ per day, with further expansion possible, and first gas from the extended production test is scheduled for August 2016.

AWE is planning to undertake additional appraisal activities over the next 12-18 months, including diagnostic tests at Waitsia-02 and Irwin-01 and drilling of up to three new appraisal wells in the area, which will assist the planning and design of the overall Waitsia Gas Project.

AWE employees from our technical, environment and procurement teams will be available during the day to talk about our projects, answer your questions or have a chat.

We look forward to seeing you there, but if you can’t make it on the day, please feel free to contact us with any questions ( or visit our website.
