AWE is taking part in the Mingenew Mid West Expo, the largest agricultural field day in Western Australia’s Mid West. The two day event showcases farming and agricultural technologies. It also presents a great opportunity to demonstrate how the onshore gas industry can successfully coexist with the agricultural industry, highlighting AWE’s longstanding active presence in the region, including our recent development activities on Irwin Park Farm.

AWE, and its predecessors, have successfully worked in the Mid West region since the 1960s and have developed enduring relationships with many local farmers, service providers and community members.

AWE staff are hosting a booth at the Expo and responding to local interest in our exploration and development activities. Visitors to the booth have wanted to know more about a range of topics including: AWE’s Waitsia Gas Project, our other operations and experience in the region, water protection, hydraulic fracturing as well as business and employment opportunities.

In addition to having our staff on hand to talk with the community, AWE is providing handouts outlining: coexistence between farming and industry; project summaries; water management; noise management; and also examples of environmental approvals documentation and materials routinely used during drilling activities.

If you have any questions about the Expo or would like to know more about what AWE is doing in the Mid West, please contact us.
